Victor Stinner	590cebe391	Issue #19787 : PyThread_set_key_value() now always set the value In Python 3.3, PyThread_set_key_value() did nothing if the key already exists (if the current value is a non-NULL pointer). When _PyGILState_NoteThreadState() is called twice on the same thread with a different Python thread state, it still keeps the old Python thread state to keep the old behaviour. Replacing the Python thread state with the new state introduces new bugs: see issues #10915 and #15751.	12 years ago

In Python 3.3, the function did nothing if the key already exists (if the current value is a non-NULL pointer). _testcapi.run_in_subinterp() now correctly sets the new Python thread state of the current thread when a subinterpreter is created.	12 years ago

Jeffrey Yasskin	39370830a9	Make (most of) Python's tests pass under Thread Sanitizer. http://code.google.com/p/data-race-test/wiki/ThreadSanitizer is a dynamic data race detector that runs on top of valgrind. With this patch, the binaries at http://code.google.com/p/data-race-test/wiki/ThreadSanitizer#Binaries pass many but not all of the Python tests. All of regrtest still passes outside of tsan. I've implemented part of the C1x atomic types so that we can explicitly mark variables that are used across threads, and get defined behavior as compilers advance. I've added tsan's client header and implementation to the codebase in dynamic_annotations.{h,c} (docs at http://code.google.com/p/data-race-test/wiki/DynamicAnnotations). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get helgrind and drd to give sensible error messages, even when I use their client annotations, so I'm not supporting them.	16 years ago

This patch should be much more RFC compliant in that only encoded params are %-decoded and the charset/language information is only extract if there are any encoded params in the segments. If there are no encoded params then the RFC says that there will be no charset/language parts. Note however that this will change the return value for Message.get_param() in some cases. For example, whereas before if you had all unencoded param continuations you would have still gotten a 3-tuple back from this method (with charset and language == None), you will now get just a string. I don't believe this is a backward incompatible change though because the documentation for this method already indicates that either return value is possible and that you must do an isinstance(val, tuple) check to discriminate between the two. (Yeah that API kind of sucks but we can't change /that/ without breaking code.) If this approach is deemed too risky, then I can work up a patch that just hacks Python/thread_pthread.h for Cygwin. Note that I tested this patch against 2.3c1 under Red Hat Linux 8.0 too. [snip] And finally, I need someone to regenerate pyconfig.h.in and configure with the same versions of the autotools that are normally used by Python.
