  1. Labwc is a wlroots-based stacking compositor aiming to be lightweight
  2. and independent, with a focus on simply stacking windows well and
  3. rendering some window decorations. It relies on clients for wallpaper,
  4. panels, screenshots, and so on to create a full desktop environment.
  5. Labwc tries to stay in keeping with wlroots and sway in terms of general
  6. approach and coding style.
  7. In order to avoid reinventing configuration and theme syntax,
  8. the openbox-3.4 specification is used. This does not mean that labwc
  9. is an openbox clone but rather that configuration files will look and
  10. feel familiar.
  11. labwc supports the following:
  12. •Config files (rc.xml, autostart, environment)
  13. •Theme files and xbm icons
  14. •Damage tracking to reduce CPU usage
  15. •A basic root-menu (configured with menu.xml)
  16. •HiDPI
  17. •wlr-output-management protocol
  18. •layer-shell protocol
  19. •foreign-toplevel protocol (e.g. to integrate with panels and bars)
  20. •Optionally xwayland
  21. Labwc uses the files listed below for configuration and theming.
