If issuing "SHOW BINLOG EVENTS IN 'relay-log.000001'" in a non-empty relay log file (relay-log.000001), mysql reports empty set. This patch addresses this issue by extending the SHOW command with RELAYLOG. Events in relay log files can now be inspected by issuing SHOW RELAYLOG EVENTS [IN 'log_name'] [FROM pos] [LIMIT [offset,] row_count].	16 years ago

There are several bug reports involved in this change: BUG#16421, BUG#17857, BUG#20384: This patch modifies the mysql.events table to permit the addition of another enum value for the status column. The column now has values of ('DISABLED','SLAVESIDE_DISABLED','ENABLED'). A status of SLAVESIDE_DISABLED is set on the slave during replication of events. This enables users to determine which events werereplicated from the master and to later enable them if they promote the slave to a master. The CREATE, ALTER, and DROP statements are binlogged. A new test was added for replication of events (rpl_events). BUG#17671: This patch modifies the code to permit logging of user-defined functions. Note: this is the CREATE FUNCTION ... SONAME variety. A more friendly error message to be displayed should a replicated user-defined function not be found in the loadable library or if the library is missing from the slave.The CREATE andDROP statements are binlogged. A new test was added for replication of user-defined functions (rpl_udf). The patch also adds a new column to the mysql.event table named 'originator' that is used to store the server_id of the server that the event originated on. This enables users to promote a slave to a master and later return the promoted slave to a slave and disable the replicated events.	19 years ago

malff/marcsql@weblab.(none)	9655f5fb03	Bug#22687 (Functions UNIQUE_USERS, GROUP_UNIQUE_USERS) According to some internal communication, these two functions are place holders for future enhancements. Because they use a variable number of parameters, the implementation defined a reserved keyword for them in the parser grammar. Unfortunately, doing so creates a bug similar to Bug 21114 reported for the function FORMAT. In the 5.1 code base, due to improvements in the code implemented with bug 21114, having a reserved keyword for functions with a variable number of arguments is not needed any more by the implementation. As a result, this fix removes the place-holder implementation, and removes the unnecessary reserved keywords. Should the functions UNIQUE_USERS and GROUP_UNIQUE_USERS be finally implemented in a later release, the implementation should sub class Create_native_func in sql/item_create.cc. For example, see the class Create_func_concat.	19 years ago

pem@mysql.com	c518a2405f	Background: Since long, the compiled code of stored routines has been printed in the trace file when starting mysqld with the "--debug" flag. (At creation time only, and only in debug builds of course.) This has been helpful when debugging stored procedure execution, but it's a bit awkward to use. Also, the printing of some of the instructions is a bit terse, in particular for sp_instr_stmt where only the command code was printed. This improves the printout of several of the instructions, and adds the debugging- only commands "show procedure code <name>" and "show function code <name>". (In non-debug builds they are not available.)	20 years ago
