This needs to be done since 5.5 is using WIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN preprocessor constant thus windows.h no more includes whiole Windows - do not deliver perl scripts (mysql_install_db.pl & friends) -they do not work, are not documented, and we have native executables for this functionality. do not pack echo.exe, replace.exe into MSI, they are not needed. Do not build resolveip on Windows, it is not used. - precache results of of system checks in cmake/os/WindowsCache.cmake (like it is alreay done for majority of tests to speed up cmake run with VS) - make feedback plugin DEFAULT on Windows (so MSI works if user enables plugin), fix null pointer access in PSI_register	14 years ago

unknown	a5b881594d	MWL#192: Non-blocking client API for libmysqlclient. All client functions that can block on I/O have alternate _start() and _cont() versions that do not block but return control back to the application, which can then issue I/O wait in its own fashion and later call back into the library to continue the operation. Works behind the scenes by spawning a co-routine/fiber to run the blocking operation and suspend it while waiting for I/O. This co-routine/fiber use is invisible to applications. For i368/x86_64 on GCC, uses very fast assembler co-routine support. On Windows uses native Win32 Fibers. Falls back to POSIX ucontext on other platforms. Assembler routines for more platforms are relatively easy to add by extending mysys/my_context.c, eg. similar to the Lua lcoco library. For testing, mysqltest and mysql_client_test are extended with the option --non-blocking-api. This causes the programs to use the non-blocking API for database access. mysql-test-run.pl has a similar option --non-blocking-api that uses this, as well as additional testcases. Vladislav Vaintroub	0eae06c430	Bug#473914: mysql_client_test fail with in debug compilaton on windows x64 Reason: inconsistent compilation, federatedx is compiled without SAFEMALLOC flag, while anything else is compiled with SAFEMALLOC. As a consequence, my_hash_init used inside federatedx initialization does not provide correct caller info parameters (file, line) , so they are initialized with whatever is on stack. When info about allocated memory is output in COM_DEBUG command, the server crashes trying to output string starting at 0xcccccccccccccccc. The fix is to remove SAFEMALLOC preprocessor flags from every CMakeLists.txt, except the top-level one. Also, SAFEMALLOC is not defined by default now, instead there is WITH_DEBUG_FULL CMake option which adds -DSAFEMALLOC to C and C++ flags in debug compilation. This option is off by default, because 1) Debug C runtime already has heap debugging builtin with overwrite and leak detection 2)safemalloc considerably slows down the tests. Note also that - SAFEMALLOC is gone in MySQL5.5 - On Windows, heap related overflows can also be found using free pageheap utility (that is also part of application verifier). This is even more efficient if there are no other layers on top of Windows heap allocator, e.g it is most efficient with release version.	15 years ago

Instead, put them into top level CMakeLists.txt, but disable on Windows, because a) SAFEMALLOC does not add any functionality that is not already present in Debug C runtime ( and 2 safe malloc one on top of the other only unnecessarily slows down the server) b)SAFE_MUTEX does not work on Windows and have been explicitely disabled on Windows with #undef previously. Fortunately, ntdll does pretty good job identifying l problems with CRITICAL_SECTIONs. DebugBreak()s on using uninited critical section, unlocking unowned critical section) -Also, remove occationally used -D_DEBUG (added by compiler anyway) sql/udf_example.c: use unixish end of line	16 years ago
Vladislav Vaintroub	b73763e0f9	Backport of the patch http://lists.mysql.com/commits/57725 Vladislav Vaintroub 2008-11-03 Cleanup CMakeLists.txt(s) - remove winsock2 (ws2_32) from TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES. Every exe or dll linked with mysys needs ws2_32, because mysys uses winsock function WSAStartup in my_init(). However, there is no need to explicitely add ws2_32 to the list of TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES multiple times. Visual Studio comes with a handy pragma that tells linker to add library. So patch replaces bunch of ws2_32 in CMakeLists with single pragma comment(lib,"ws2_32") in my_init.c Additionally, reference to non-existing "debug" library has been removed from TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES. The correct name of the library is "dbug".	16 years ago
Vladislav Vaintroub	2bc1930c6c	Windows improvements : manual backport of htttp://lists.mysql.com/commits/50957?f=plain Always use TLS functions instead of __declspec(thread) to access thread local storage variables. The change removes the necessity to recomplile the same source files twice - with USE_TLS for DLLs and without USE_TLS for EXEs. Real benefit of this change is better readability and maintainability of TLS functions within MySQL. There is a performance loss using TlsXXX functions compared to __declspec but the difference is negligible in practice. In a sysbench-like benchmark I ran with with TlsGetValue, pthread_[get\|set]_specific was called 600000000 times and took 0.17sec of total 35min CPU time, or 0.008%.	16 years ago

Davi Arnaut	fb8f32d077	Bug#37003 Tests sporadically crashes with embedded server The problem was that when a embedded linked version of mysqltest crashed there was no way to obtain a stack trace if no core file is available. Another problem is that the embedded version of libmysql was not behaving (crash) the same as the non-embedded with respect to sending commands to a explicitly closed connection. The solution is to generate a mysqltest's stack trace on crash and to enable "reconnect" if the connection handle was explicitly closed so the behavior matches the non-embedded one. client/CMakeLists.txt: Link mysys to mysqltest. client/Makefile.am: Link mysys to mysqltest. client/mysqltest.c: Add fatal signal handling with backtracing for Unix and Windows. configure.in: Add check for weak symbols support and remove a spurious word. include/Makefile.am: Add new header with prototype for stack tracing functions. include/my_stacktrace.h: Add new header with prototype for stack tracing functions. libmysqld/CMakeLists.txt: stack tracing is now part of mysys. libmysqld/Makefile.am: stack tracing is now part of mysys. libmysqld/lib_sql.cc: Re-connect if connection was explicitly closed. This is done to match the behavior of the non-embeded libmysql. mysql-test/t/sql_low_priority_updates_func.test: Test expects parallelism between queries that cannot be guaranteed under embedded. mysys/CMakeLists.txt: Add stacktrace to mysys. mysys/Makefile.am: Add stacktrace to mysys. mysys/stacktrace.c: Move stacktrace to mysys and add weak symbol for the C++ name de-mangling function so that it can later be overridden in C++ code. unknown	a250e2b453	Fix a bad BitKeeper dependency structure for the "CMakeLists.txt" files. They had been introduced in 5.1 and were only later backported to 5.0; as a consequence, the files in the 5.1 tree do not depend on the 5.0 ones, and changes in 5.0 do not propagate into the 5.1 files. To fix this, the (previous) files in 5.1 now are deleted ("bk rm"), and the previously deleted files depending on 5.0 are now moved to the respective source directories ("bk mv"). The current 5.1 contents is restored in these files. If you need the previous history of the 5.1 files ("bk revtool"), access those in "BitKeeper/deleted". Contrary to the original plan, I did not introduce the name "CMakeLists.historic" - mostly in order not to clutter the source tree. This fixes bug#29982.
