Use my_snprintf as it will result in less stack space being used than by a system provided sprintf -- this allows us to put the buffer on the stack without causing much trouble. Georgi Kodinov	37e88536e3	Bug #35396 : Abnormal query times in slow query log If the system time is adjusted back during a query execution (resulting in the end time being earlier than the start time) the code that prints to the slow query log gets confused and prints unsigned negative numbers. Fixed by not logging the statements that would have negative execution time due to time shifts. By not acknowledging the roll back, the server (TM) would eventually corrupt the XA transaction state and crash. According to the manual it should contain the "number of statements that clients have sent to the server" Introduced a new status variable 'questions' to replace the query_id variable which currently corresponds badly with the number of statements sent by the client. The new behavior is ment to be backward compatible with 4.0 and at the same time work with new features in a similar way. Mats Kindahl	dcd050c550	Bug #34707 : Row based replication: slave creates table within wrong database The failure was caused by executing a CREATE-SELECT statement that creates a table in another database than the current one. In row-based logging, the CREATE statement was written to the binary log without the database, hence creating the table in the wrong database, causing the following inserts to fail since the table didn't exist in the given database. Fixed the bug by adding a parameter to store_create_info() that will make the function print the database name before the table name and used that in the calls that write the CREATE statement to the binary log. The database name is only printed if it is different than the currently selected database. The output of SHOW CREATE TABLE has not changed and is still printed without the database name. mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_row_create_table.test: Added test to check that CREATE-SELECT into another database than the current one replicates. sql/sql_insert.cc: Adding parameter to calls to store_create_info(). sql/sql_show.cc: Adding parameter to calls to store_create_info(). Marc Alff	ff4fde18c4	Bug#36768 (partition_info::check_partition_info() reports mal formed warnings) Before this fix, several places in the code would raise a warning with an error code 0, making it impossible for a stored procedure, a connector, or a client application to trigger logic to handle the warning. Also, the warning text was hard coded, and therefore not translated. With this fix, new errors numbers have been created to represent these warnings, and the warning text is coded in the errmsg.txt file.	18 years ago

Davi Arnaut	0406d409ea	Bug#34306: Can't make copy of log tables when server binary log is enabled The problem is that when statement-based replication was enabled, statements such as INSERT INTO .. SELECT FROM .. and CREATE TABLE .. SELECT FROM need to grab a read lock on the source table that does not permit concurrent inserts, which would in turn be denied if the source table is a log table because log tables can't be locked exclusively. The solution is to not take such a lock when the source table is a log table as it is unsafe to replicate log tables under statement based replication. Furthermore, the read lock that does not permits concurrent inserts is now only taken if statement-based replication is enabled and if the source table is not a log table. include/thr_lock.h: Introduce yet another lock type that my get upgraded depending on the binary log format. It wasn't called for SHOW STATUS statement thus left grants info uninitialized. In some cases this led to server crash. The problem was that the sql profile preparation function wasn't being called for all possible code paths of query execution. The solution is to ensure that query profiling is always started before dispatch_command function is called and to explicitly call the profile preparation function on bootstrap. sql/sql_parse.cc: Finish query profiling properly when executing bootstrap commands. He Zhenxing	a018e98cba	BUG#37051 Replication rules not evaluated correctly The problem of this bug is that we need to get the list of tables to be updated for a multi-table update statement, which requires to open all the tables referenced by the statement and resolve all the fields involved in update in order to figure out the list of tables for update. However if there are replicate filter rules, some tables might not exist on slave and result in a failure before we could examine the filter rules. I think the whole problem can not be solved on slave alone, the master must record and send the information of tables involved for update to slave, so that the slave do not need to open all the tables referenced by the multi-table update statement to figure out which tables are involved for update. So a status variable is added to Query_log event to store the value of table map for update on master. And on slave, it will try to get the value of this variable and use it to examine filter rules without opening any tables on slave, if this values is not available, the old approach is used and thus the bug will still occur for when replicating from old masters. sql/sql_class.h: add member table_map_for_update to THD sql/sql_parse.cc: check filter rules by using table_map_for_update value sql/sql_update.cc: save the value of table_map_for_update	18 years ago
Marc Alff	e73e7bb9ae	Bug#35577 (CREATE PROCEDURE causes either crash or syntax error depending on build) The crash was caused by freeing the internal parser stack during the parser execution. This occured only for complex stored procedures, after reallocating the parser stack using my_yyoverflow(), with the following C call stack: - MYSQLparse() - any rule calling sp_head::restore_lex() - lex_end() - x_free(lex->yacc_yyss), xfree(lex->yacc_yyvs) The root cause is the implementation of stored procedures, which breaks the assumption from 4.1 that there is only one LEX structure per parser call. The solution is to separate the LEX structure into: - attributes that represent a statement (the current LEX structure), - attributes that relate to the syntax parser itself (Yacc_state), so that parsing multiple statements in stored programs can create multiple LEX structures while not changing the unique Yacc_state. Marc Alff	c7724872d8	Bug#26030 (Parsing fails for stored routine w/multi-statement execution enabled) Before this fix, the lexer and parser would treat the ';' character as a different token (either ';' or END_OF_INPUT), based on convoluted logic, which failed in simple cases where a stored procedure is implemented as a single statement, and used in a multi query. With this fix: - the character ';' is always parsed as a ';' token in the lexer, - parsing multi queries is implemented in the parser, in the 'query:' rules, - the value of thd->client_capabilities, which is the capabilities negotiated between the client and the server during bootstrap, is immutable and not arbitrarily modified during parsing (which was the root cause of the bug)	18 years ago

If during a FLUSH PRIVILEGES the server fails to load the new privilege tables, the error message is lost. This patch is a back port from 5.1 which adresses this issue by setting the server in an error state if a failure occurrs. This patch also corrects an incorrect variable assignment which might cause an error state to be reverted by coincidence. sql/sql_parse.cc: * Set error state if acl_reload or grant_reload fails. * Fix bad variable assignment which cancels previous error status.	18 years ago

Now the client never gets an error from reprepare, unless it failed. I.e. even if the statement at hand returns a completely different result set, this is not considered a server error. The C API library, that can not handle this situation, was modified to return a client error. Added additional test coverage. include/errmsg.h: Add a new client side error: now when we automatically reprepare a statement, the new result set may contain a different number of columns. include/mysql_com.h: Add a new server status to be sent to the client if the number of columns in the result set is different. libmysql/errmsg.c: Add a new error message. libmysql/libmysql.c: Make the client library robust against a result set that contains a different number of columns from prepare time. Previously that could never happen, and we simply had an assert. That means in particular that all clients are advised to upgrade with transition to 5.1, if they are using prepared statements C API. Make mysql_stmt_store_result() and mysql_stmt_execute() robust against "broken" statement handles (those that have an error). sql/sql_parse.cc: Clear transient server status flags at start of statement more systematically. sql/share/errmsg.txt: Remove an error that is unused and is not part of any public release. sql/sql_prepare.cc: Instead of returning an error in case the number of result set columns has changed, simply update the client in server status. That will allow modern clients automatically recover from an error. tests/mysql_client_test.c: Add additional coverage to the cases when the number of result set columns changed as a result of reprepare. When DROP SERVER is issued, it doesn't release this memory, as it is impossible with the memory root. We use the same allocation strategy for plugins and acl. The problem here that there was no way (except for the server restart) to force 'servers' code to release this memory. With this fix it is possible to release unused server cache memory by FLUSH PRIVILEGES. No test case for this fix. sql/sql_parse.cc: Reload servers table on FLUSH PRIVILEGES. sql/sql_servers.cc: Instead of just marking memory blocks as unused, release memory used by servers cache and initialize new memory root. The problem was that in the patch for Bug#11986 it was decided to store original query in UTF8 encoding for the INFORMATION_SCHEMA. That happened because LEX of new THD-object was not properly initialized. - user-specified log options were ignored when logs were reopened. The fix is to 1) initialize LEX and 2) take user-specified options into account. unknown	39509d64c3	A fix and a test case for Bug#34166 Server crash in SHOW OPEN TABLES and pre-locking. The crash was caused by an implicit assumption in check_table_access() that table_list parameter is always a part of lex->query_tables. When iterating over the passed list of tables, check_table_access() used to stop only when lex->query_tables_last_not_own was reached. In case of pre-locking, lex->query_tables_last_own is not NULL and points to some element of lex->query_tables. When the parameter of check_table_access() was not part of lex->query_tables, loop invariant could never be violated and a crash would happen when the current table pointer would point beyond the end of the provided list. The fix is to change the signature of check_table_access() to also accept a numeric limit of loop iterations, similarly to check_grant(), and supply this limit in all places when we want to check access of tables that are outside lex->query_tables, or just want to check access to one table. mysql-test/r/information_schema.result: Update test results (Bug#34166). mysql-test/t/information_schema.test: Add a test case for Bug#34166. sql/mysql_priv.h: Change signature of check_table_access() to accept a numeric limit of tables to check. sql/sp_head.cc: Update to the new signature of check_table_access(). sql/sql_acl.cc: Improve code clarity: if there is a numeric limit, we should not need to look at first_not_own_table. sql/sql_base.cc: Update to the new signature of check_table_access(). sql/sql_cache.cc: Update to the new signature of check_table_access(). sql/sql_parse.cc: Update to the new signature of check_table_access(). unknown	5a039fa28b	BUG#26489 Corruption in relay logs Here is the scenario that causes the failure.(by Mats) 1. The to-be corrupt log event (let's call it X), is split into two packets B and C on the network level (net_write_buff()). The parts are X = (x',x''). The part x' ends up in packet B and part x'' ends up in packet C. Prior to the corrupt event X, the event Y has been written successfully, but has been split into two packets as well, which we call (y',y''). 2. The master sends packet A = (y'',x') to the slave, increases the packet sequence number, the slave receives the packet, but fails to reply before the master gets a timeout. 3. Since the master got a timeout, it reports failure, and aborts sending the binary log by exiting mysql_binlog_send(). However, it leaves the buffer intact, still holding y'' (but not x', since the write_pos is not increased). 4. After exiting mysql_binlog_send(), the master does a disconnection of the client thread, which involves sending an error message e to the client (i.e., the slave). 5. In this case, net_write_buff() is used again, but this time the old contents of the packet is used so that the new packet is D = (y'',e). Note that this will use a new packet sequence number, since the packet number was increased in step 2. 6. The slave receives the tail y'' of the Y log event, concatenates this with x' (which it already received), and writes the event (x',y'') it to the relay log since it hasn't noticed anything is amiss. 7. It then tries to read more bytes, which is either e (if the length given for X just happened to match the length given for Y, or just plain garbage because the slave is out of sync with what is actually sent. 8. After a while, the SQL thread tries to execute the event (x',y''), which is very likely to be just nonsense. The problem can be fixed by not resetting net->error after the call of mysql_binlog_send, so the error message will not be sent and the connection will be closed. sql/sql_parse.cc: Do not reset net->error, if net->error == 2, we should not try to use the connection again	18 years ago
