Nurnberg	5ef63a4f1c	Bug#28141: Control C on query waiting on lock causes ERROR 1053 (server shutdown) If a thread is killed in the server, we throw "shutdown" only if one is actually in progress; otherwise, we throw "query interrupted". Control-C in the mysql command-line client is "incremental" now. First Control-C sends KILL QUERY (when connected to 5.0+ server, otherwise, see next) Next Control-C sends KILL CONNECTION Next Control-C aborts client. As the first two steps only pertain to an existing query, Control-C will abort the client right away if no query is running. client will give more detailed/consistent feedback on Control-C now. client/mysql.cc: Extends Control-C handling; enhances up feedback to user. Did some encapsulation in THD : aggregated thd_query and thd_query_length into a LEX_STRING and made accessor and mutator methods for easy code updating. 3. Jorgen Loland	6da93b223b	Bug#47280 - strange results from count(*) with order by multiple columns without where/group Simple SELECT with implicit grouping used to return many rows if the query was ordered by the aggregated column in the SELECT list. This was incorrect because queries with implicit grouping should only return a single record. The problem was that when JOIN:exec() decided if execution needed to handle grouping, it was assumed that sum_func_count==0 meant that there were no aggregate functions in the query. This assumption was not correct in JOIN::exec() because the aggregate functions might have been optimized away during JOIN::optimize(). The reason why queries without ordering behaved correctly was that sum_func_count is only recalculated if the optimizer chooses to use temporary tables (which it does in the ordered case). Hence, non-ordered queries were correctly treated as grouped. The fix for this bug was to remove the assumption that sum_func_count==0 means that there is no need for grouping. INTO OUTFILE (to complement the same clause in LOAD DATA INFILE). mysqldump is updated to use this in --tab mode. 2) ESCAPED BY/ENCLOSED BY field parameters are documented as accepting CHAR argument, however SELECT .. INTO OUTFILE silently ignored rests of multisymbol arguments. For the symmetrical behavior with LOAD DATA INFILE the server has been modified to fail with the same error: ERROR 42000: Field separator argument is not what is expected; check the manual 3) Current LOAD DATA INFILE recognizes field/line separators "as is" without converting from client charset to data file charset. So, it is supposed, that input file of LOAD DATA INFILE consists of data in one charset and separators in other charset. For the compatibility with that [buggy] behaviour SELECT INTO OUTFILE implementation has been saved "as is" too, but the new warning message has been added: Non-ASCII separator arguments are not fully supported This message warns on field/line separators that contain non-ASCII symbols. client/mysqldump.c: mysqldump has been updated to call SELECT ... The problem was that THD::connect_utime could be used without being initialized when the main thread is used to handle connections (--thread-handling=no-threads). sql/mysqld.cc: Set THD::start_utime even in no-threads handling mode. sql/sql_class.cc: Initialize variable. sql/sql_class.h: Rename connect_utime to prior_thr_create_utime as to better reflect it's use intention. sql/sql_connect.cc: Check only if a thread was actually created.	17 years ago
Davi Arnaut	12f91b1d8c	Bug#44672: Assertion failed: thd->transaction.xid_state.xid.is_null() The problem is that when a optimization of read-only transactions (bypass 2-phase commit) was implemented, it removed the code that reseted the XID once a transaction wasn't active anymore: sql/sql_parse.cc: - bzero(&thd->transaction.stmt, sizeof(thd->transaction.stmt)); - if (!thd->active_transaction()) - thd->transaction.xid_state.xid.null(); + thd->transaction.stmt.reset(); This mostly worked fine as the transaction commit and rollback functions (in handler.cc) reset the XID once the transaction is ended. But those functions wouldn't reset the XID in case of a empty transaction, leading to a assertion when a new starting a new XA transaction. The solution is to ensure that the XID state is reset when empty transactions are ended (by either commit or rollback). This is achieved by reorganizing the code so that the transaction cleanup routine is invoked whenever a transaction is ended. mysql-test/r/xa.result: Add test case result for Bug#44672 mysql-test/t/xa.test: Add test case for Bug#44672 sql/handler.cc: Invoke transaction cleanup function whenever a transaction is ended. Kristofer Pettersson	66e0ee6639	Bug#44658 Create procedure makes server crash when user does not have ALL privilege MySQL crashes if a user without proper privileges attempts to create a procedure. The crash happens because more than one error state is pushed onto the Diagnostic area. In this particular case the user is denied to implicitly create a new user account with the implicitly granted privileges ALTER- and EXECUTE ROUTINE. The new account is needed if the original user account contained a host mask. A user account with a host mask is a distinct user account in this context. An alternative would be to first get the most permissive user account which include the current user connection and then assign privileges to that account. This behavior change is considered out of scope for this bug patch. The implicit assignment of privileges when a user creates a stored routine is a considered to be a feature for user convenience and as such it is not a critical operation. Any failure to complete this operation is thus considered non-fatal (an error becomes a warning). The patch back ports a stack implementation of the internal error handler interface. This enables the use of multiple error handlers so that it is possible to intercept and cancel errors thrown by lower layers. Ramil Kalimullin	bce4c76ae0	Fix for bug#35383: binlog playback and replication breaks due to name_const substitution Problem: "In general, statements executed within a stored procedure are written to the binary log using the same rules that would apply were the statements to be executed in standalone fashion. Some special care is taken when logging procedure statements because statement execution within procedures is not quite the same as in non-procedure context". For example, each reference to a local variable in SP's statements is replaced by NAME_CONST(var_name, var_value). Queries like "CREATE TABLE ... SELECT FUNC(local_var ..." are logged as "CREATE TABLE ... SELECT FUNC(NAME_CONST("local_var", var_value) ..." that leads to differrent field names and might result in "Incorrect column name" if var_value is long enough. Fix: in 5.x we'll issue a warning in such a case. In 6.0 we should get rid of NAME_CONST(). Davi Arnaut	41dd7b6b92	Bug#28323: Server crashed in xid cache operations The problem was that the server did not robustly handle a unilateral roll back issued by the Resource Manager (RM) due to a resource deadlock within the transaction branch. By not acknowledging the roll back, the server (TM) would eventually corrupt the XA transaction state and crash. In row-based logging, the CREATE statement was written to the binary log without the database, hence creating the table in the wrong database, causing the following inserts to fail since the table didn't exist in the given database. Fixed the bug by adding a parameter to store_create_info() that will make the function print the database name before the table name and used that in the calls that write the CREATE statement to the binary log. The database name is only printed if it is different than the currently selected database. The output of SHOW CREATE TABLE has not changed and is still printed without the database name. mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_row_create_table.test: Added test to check that CREATE-SELECT into another database than the current one replicates. sql/sql_insert.cc: Adding parameter to calls to store_create_info(). sql/sql_show.cc: Adding parameter to calls to store_create_info(). Guilhem Bichot	84c1fffabb	Fix for BUG#31612 "Trigger fired multiple times leads to gaps in auto_increment sequence". The bug was that if a trigger fired multiple times inside a top statement (for example top-statement is a multi-row INSERT, and trigger is ON INSERT), and that trigger inserted into an auto_increment column, then gaps could be observed in the auto_increment sequence, even if there were no other users of the database (no concurrency). It was wrong usage of THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog. Note that the fix changes "class handler", I'll tell the Storage Engine API team. mysql-test/r/trigger-trans.result: result; before the bugfix, the sequence was 1,2,4,6,8,10,12... mysql-test/t/trigger-trans.test: test for BUG#31612 sql/handler.cc: See revision comment of handler.h. As THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog is cumulative over all trigger invokations by the top statement, the second invokation of the trigger arrived in handler::update_auto_increment() with already one interval in THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog. The method thus believed it had already reserved one interval for that invokation, thus reserved a twice larger interval (heuristic when we don't know how large the interval should be: we grow by powers of two). InnoDB thus increased its internal per-table auto_increment counter by 2 while only one row was to be inserted. Hence a gap in the sequence. The fix is to use the new handler::auto_inc_intervals_count. Note that the trigger's statement knows how many rows it is going to insert, but provides estimation_rows_to_insert == 0 (see comments in sql_insert.cc why triggers don't call handler::ha_start_bulk_insert()). * removing white space at end of line * we don't need to maintain THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog if no binlogging or if row-based binlogging. Using auto_inc_intervals_count in the heuristic makes the heuristic independent of binary logging, which is good. sql/handler.h: THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog served - for binlogging - as a heuristic when we have no estimation of how many records the statement will insert. But the first goal needs to be cumulative over all statements which form a binlog event, while the second one needs to be attached to each statement. THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog is cumulative, leading to BUG#31612. So we introduce handler::auto_inc_intervals_count for the second goal. See the revision comment of handler.cc. A smaller issue was that, even when the binlog event was only one statement (no triggers, no stored functions), THD::auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt.nb_elements() could be lower than the number of reserved intervals (fooling the heuristic), because its append() method collapses two contiguous intervals in one. Note that as auto_inc_intervals_count is in class 'handler' and not in class 'THD', it does not need to be handled in THD::reset\|restore_sub_statement_state(). sql/log.cc: Comment is wrong: if auto_increment is second, in handler::update_auto_increment() 'append' is false and so auto_inc_intervals_in_cur_stmt_for_binlog is empty, we do not come here. sql/sql_class.h: comment	17 years ago

Mats Kindahl	02a4354044	Bug #32709 : Assertion failed: trx_data->empty(), file log.cc The assertion indicates that some data was left in the transaction cache when the server was shut down, which means that a previous statement did not commit or rollback correctly. What happened was that a bug in the rollback of a transactional table caused the transaction cache to be emptied, but not reset. The error can be triggered by having a failing UPDATE or INSERT, on a transactional table, causing an implicit rollback. Fixed by always flushing the pending event to reset the state properly. mysql-test/extra/rpl_tests/rpl_row_basic.test: Testing that a failed update (that writes some rows to the transaction cache) does not cause the transaction cache to hold on to the data or forget to reset the transaction cache. sql/log.cc: Added call to remove pending event when the transaction cache is emptied instead of written to binary log. The call will also clear the outstanding table map count so that the cache is not left it in a state of "empty but not reset". He Zhenxing	a018e98cba	BUG#37051 Replication rules not evaluated correctly The problem of this bug is that we need to get the list of tables to be updated for a multi-table update statement, which requires to open all the tables referenced by the statement and resolve all the fields involved in update in order to figure out the list of tables for update. However if there are replicate filter rules, some tables might not exist on slave and result in a failure before we could examine the filter rules. I think the whole problem can not be solved on slave alone, the master must record and send the information of tables involved for update to slave, so that the slave do not need to open all the tables referenced by the multi-table update statement to figure out which tables are involved for update. So a status variable is added to Query_log event to store the value of table map for update on master. And on slave, it will try to get the value of this variable and use it to examine filter rules without opening any tables on slave, if this values is not available, the old approach is used and thus the bug will still occur for when replicating from old masters. sql/sql_class.h: add member table_map_for_update to THD sql/sql_parse.cc: check filter rules by using table_map_for_update value sql/sql_update.cc: save the value of table_map_for_update	18 years ago

This occured only for complex stored procedures, after reallocating the parser stack using my_yyoverflow(), with the following C call stack: - MYSQLparse() - any rule calling sp_head::restore_lex() - lex_end() - x_free(lex->yacc_yyss), xfree(lex->yacc_yyvs) The root cause is the implementation of stored procedures, which breaks the assumption from 4.1 that there is only one LEX structure per parser call. The solution is to separate the LEX structure into: - attributes that represent a statement (the current LEX structure), - attributes that relate to the syntax parser itself (Yacc_state), so that parsing multiple statements in stored programs can create multiple LEX structures while not changing the unique Yacc_state. If some table used in the statement has changed, the prepared statement is re-prepared before execution. See WL#4165 and WL#4166 contents and comments in the code for details of the implementation. include/my_global.h: Remove 'register' keyword to avoid warnings when swapping large structures that don't fit into a register. Any modern compiler is capable of placing a variable in a register when that would benefit performance. mysql-test/r/ps_1general.result: Update test results: since now we re-prepare automatically, more correct results are produced in prepare-ddl-execute scenario. mysql-test/r/query_cache_merge.result: Ensure that the table definition cache is large enough for the test to pass in --ps-protocol mysql-test/r/trigger.result: Update test results to reflect automatic statement reprepare. mysql-test/t/disabled.def: Enable ps_ddl.test, which now passes. mysql-test/t/ps_1general.test: Since now we re-execute prepared statements after DDL successfully, change the test to produce repeatable results. unknown	f21ee5d00d	BUG#33029 5.0 to 5.1 replication fails on dup key when inserting using a trig in SP For all 5.0 and up to 5.1.12 exclusive, when a stored routine or trigger caused an INSERT into an AUTO_INCREMENT column, the generated AUTO_INCREMENT value should not be written into the binary log, which means if a statement does not generate AUTO_INCREMENT value itself, there will be no Intvar event (SET INSERT_ID) associated with it even if one of the stored routine or trigger caused generation of such a value. And meanwhile, when executing a stored routine or trigger, it would ignore the INSERT_ID value even if there is a INSERT_ID value available set by a SET INSERT_ID statement. Starting from MySQL 5.1.12, the generated AUTO_INCREMENT value is written into the binary log, and the value will be used if available when executing the stored routine or trigger. Prior fix of this bug in MySQL 5.0 and prior MySQL 5.1.12 (referenced as the buggy versions in the text below), when a statement that generates AUTO_INCREMENT value by the top statement was executed in the body of a SP, all statements in the SP after this statement would be treated as if they had generated AUTO_INCREMENT by the top statement. When a statement that did not generate AUTO_INCREMENT value by the top statement but by a function/trigger called by it, an erroneous Intvar event would be associated with the statement, this erroneous INSERT_ID value wouldn't cause problem when replicating between masters and slaves of 5.0.x or prior 5.1.12, because the erroneous INSERT_ID value was not used when executing functions/triggers. But when replicating from buggy versions to 5.1.12 or newer, which will use the INSERT_ID value in functions/triggers, the erroneous value will be used, which would cause duplicate entry error and cause the slave to stop. This limitation was introduced to avoid replication problems (e.g: replicating the statement with a string argument would cause a parse failure in the slave).
