Nurnberg	d096079d33	Bug#37553: MySql Error Compare TimeDiff & Time We pretended that TIMEDIFF() would always return positive results; this gave strange results in comparisons of the TIMEDIFF(low,hi)<TIME(0) type that rendered a negative result, but still gave false in comparison. We also inadvertantly dropped the sign when converting times to decimal. CAST(time AS DECIMAL) handles signs of the times correctly. TIMEDIFF() marked up as signed. unknown	9d661efd7f	Bug#27219: Aggregate functions in ORDER BY. Mixing aggregate functions and non-grouping columns is not allowed in the ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY mode. However in some cases the error wasn't thrown because of insufficient check. In order to check more thoroughly the new algorithm employs a list of outer fields used in a sum function and a SELECT_LEX::full_group_by_flag. Each non-outer field checked to find out whether it's aggregated or not and the current select is marked accordingly. So we can't always propagate constants for zerofill fields : the values and expression results don't have that flag. Fixed by converting the const value to a string and using that in const propagation when the context allows it. By always calling 'my_net_set_write_timeout' or 'net_set_read_timeout' when changing the timeout value(s), the selection whether to use alarms or timeouts will be handled by ifdef's in those two functions. This is minimal backport of patch for BUG#26664, which was pushed to 5.0 and up. Also, using them in the SET statement produced an incorrect "unknown system variable" error. unknown	ebaa05efa7	Bug#27216: functions with parameters of different date types may return wrong type of the result. There are several functions that accept parameters of different types. The result field type of such functions was determined based on the aggregated result type of its arguments. As the DATE and the DATETIME types are represented by the STRING type, the result field type of the affected functions was always STRING for DATE/DATETIME arguments. The affected functions are COALESCE, IF, IFNULL, CASE, LEAST/GREATEST, CASE. Now the affected functions aggregate the field types of their arguments rather than their result types and return the result of aggregation as their result field type. The cached_field_type member variable is added to the number of classes to hold the aggregated result field type. The str_to_date() function's result field type now defaults to the MYSQL_TYPE_DATETIME. The agg_field_type() function is added. It aggregates field types with help of the Field::field_type_merge() function. The create_table_from_items() function now uses the item->tmp_table_field_from_field_type() function to get the proper field when the item is a function with a STRING result type. libmysql/libmysql.c: Bug#27216: functions with parameters of different date types may return wrong type of the result. The client library now accepts the NEWDATE type as a string. sql/item_cmpfunc.cc: Bug#27216: functions with parameters of different date types may return wrong type of the result. unknown	0936976e8d	A fix and a test case for Bug#24918 drop table and lock / inconsistent between perm and temp tables. Review fixes. The original bug report complains that if we locked a temporary table with LOCK TABLES statement, we would not leave LOCK TABLES mode when this temporary table is dropped. Additionally, the bug was escalated when it was discovered than when a temporary transactional table that was previously locked with LOCK TABLES statement was dropped, futher actions with this table, such as UNLOCK TABLES, would lead to a crash. The problem originates from incomplete support of transactional temporary tables. When we added calls to handler::store_lock()/handler::external_lock() to operations that work with such tables, we only covered the normal server code flow and did not cover LOCK TABLES mode. In LOCK TABLES mode, ::external_lock(LOCK) would sometimes be called without matching ::external_lock(UNLOCK), e.g. when a transactional temporary table was dropped. Additionally, this table would be left in the list of LOCKed TABLES. The patch aims to address this inadequacy. Now, whenever an instance of 'handler' is destroyed, we assert that it was priorly external_lock(UNLOCK)-ed. All the places that violate this assert were fixed. This patch introduces no changes in behavior -- the discrepancy in behavior will be fixed when we start calling ::store_lock()/::external_lock() for all tables, regardless whether they are transactional or not, temporary or not. mysql-test/r/innodb_mysql.result: Update test results (Bug#24918) mysql-test/t/innodb_mysql.test: Add a test case for Bug#24918 sql/handler.h: Make handler::external_lock() a protected method. Backport from 5.1 its public wrapper handler::ha_external_lock(). Assert that the handler is not closed if it is still locked. sql/lock.cc: In mysql_lock_tables only call lock_external() for the list of tables that we called store_lock() for. E.g. get_lock_data() does not add non-transactional temporary tables to the lock list, so lock_external() should not be called for them. Use handler::ha_external_lock() instead of handler::external_lock(). Add comments for mysql_lock_remove(), parameterize one strange side effect that it has. At least in one place where mysql_lock_remove is used, this side effect is not desired (DROP TABLE). The parameter will be dropped in 5.1, along with the side effect. sql/mysql_priv.h: Update declaration of mysql_lock_remove(). sql/opt_range.cc: Deploy handler::ha_external_lock() instead of handler::external_lock() sql/sql_base.cc: When closing a temporary table, remove the table from the list of LOCKed TABLES of this thread, in case it's there. Since we have no data on this at all so far, we just retry on failure (and log the event), assuming that this is just an intermittant failure. This might of course hang the threat until we succeed. Once we know more about these failures, an appropriate more clever scheme may be picked (only try so many times per thread, etc., if that fails, return last "good" time() we got or some such). Using sql_print_information() to log as this probably only occurs in high load scenarios where the debug- trace likely is disabled (or might interfere with testing the effect). The first and the second bugs resulted in various errors and wrong binary log order when one tried to execute concurrently CREATE TABLE LIKE statement and DDL statements on source table or DML/DDL statements on its target table. The problem was caused by incomplete protection/table-locking against concurrent statements implemented in mysql_create_like_table() routine. We solve it by simply implementing such protection in proper way (see comment for sql_table.cc for details). The third bug allowed user who didn't have any privileges on table create its copy and therefore circumvent privilege check for SHOW CREATE TABLE. This patch solves this problem by adding privilege check, which was missing. Finally it also removes some duplicated code from mysql_create_like_table(). SELECT when temporary table exists" Deadlock occured when one tried to execute CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS ... SELECT statement under LOCK TABLES which held read lock on target table. Attempt to execute the same statement for already existing target table with triggers caused server crashes. Also concurrent execution of CREATE TABLE ... SELECT statement and other statements involving target table suffered from various races (some of which might've led to deadlocks). Finally, attempt to execute CREATE TABLE ... SELECT in case when a temporary table with same name was already present led to the insertion of data into this temporary table and creation of empty non-temporary table. All above problems stemmed from the old implementation of CREATE TABLE ... SELECT in which we created, opened and locked target table without any special protection in a separate step and not with the rest of tables used by this statement. This underminded deadlock-avoidance approach used in server and created window for races. It also excluded target table from prelocking causing problems with trigger execution. The patch solves these problems by implementing new approach to handling of CREATE TABLE ... SELECT for base tables. We try to open and lock table to be created at the same time as the rest of tables used by this statement. If such table does not exist at this moment we create and place in the table cache special placeholder for it which prevents its creation or any other usage by other threads. We still use old approach for creation of temporary tables. Also note that we decided to postpone introduction of some tests for concurrent behaviour of CREATE TABLE ... SELECT till 5.1. The main reason for this is absence in 5.0 ability to set @@debug variable at runtime, which can be circumvented only by using several test files with individual .opt files. Since the latter is likely to slowdown test-suite unnecessary we chose not to push this tests into 5.0, but run them manually for this version and later push their optimized version into 5.1 mysql-test/r/create.result: Extended test coverage for CREATE TABLE ... unknown	3eff7d4dd5	Bug#25411 (trigger code truncated), PART I The issue found with bug 25411 is due to the function skip_rear_comments() which damages the source code while implementing a work around. The root cause of the problem is in the lexical analyser, which does not process special comments properly. For special comments like : [1] aaa /!50000 bbb / ccc since 5.0 is a version older that the current code, the parser is in lining the content of the special comment, so that the query to process is [2] aaa bbb ccc However, the text of the query captured when processing a stored procedure, stored function or trigger (or event in 5.1), can be after rebuilding it: [3] aaa bbb / ccc which is wrong. To fix bug 25411 properly, the lexical analyser needs to return [2] when in lining special comments. In order to implement this, some preliminary cleanup is required in the code, which is implemented by this patch. Before this change, the structure named LEX (or st_lex) contains attributes that belong to lexical analysis, as well as attributes that represents the abstract syntax tree (AST) of a statement. Creating a new LEX structure for each statements (which makes sense for the AST part) also re-initialized the lexical analysis phase each time, which is conceptually wrong. With this patch, the previous st_lex structure has been split in two: - st_lex represents the Abstract Syntax Tree for a statement. The name "lex" has not been changed to avoid a bigger impact in the code base. - class lex_input_stream represents the internal state of the lexical analyser, which by definition should not* be reinitialized when parsing multiple statements from the same input stream. This change is a pre-requisite for bug 25411, since the implementation of lex_input_stream will later improve to deal properly with special comments, and this processing can not be done with the current implementation of sp_head::reset_lex and sp_head::restore_lex, which interfere with the lexer. In other words AFTER trigger invoked as result of update (or deletion) of particular row saw version of this row before update (or deletion). The problem occured because NDB handler in those cases postponed actual update/delete operations to be able to perform them later as one batch. This fix solves the problem by disabling this optimization for particular operation if subject table has AFTER trigger for this operation defined. To achieve this we introduce two new flags for handler::extra() method: HA_EXTRA_DELETE_CANNOT_BATCH and HA_EXTRA_UPDATE_CANNOT_BATCH. These are called if there exists AFTER DELETE/UPDATE triggers during a statement that potentially can generate calls to delete_row()/update_row(). The fix is to restore THD::db_access in this case. Unfortunately, this fix requires additional changes, because in prepare_schema_table(), called on the parsing stage, we checked privileges. That was wrong according to our design, but this flaw haven't struck so far, because it was masked. All privilege checkings must be done on the execution stage in order to be compatible with prepared statements and stored routines. It resulted in replacement of any outer reference resolved against an alias for a full field name when the frm representation of a view with a subquery was generated. If the subquery and the outer query referenced the same table in their from lists this replacement effectively changed the meaning of the view and led to wrong results for selects from this view. Modified several functions to ensure setting the right value of the alias_name_used flag for outer references resolved against aliases. mysql-test/r/view.result: Added a test case for bug #26560. mysql-test/t/view.test: Added a test case for bug #26560. sql/item.cc: Fixed bug #26560. Made the function resolve_ref_in_select_and_group analyze the return value of the last parameter with the type of the name resolution for the submitted reference. If the reference has been resolved against an alias name from select list then its flag alias_name_used is set on. Now this value is used in Item_field::fix_outer_field to initialize the flag when the item_ref object is created for an outer reference. unknown	f8855142d7	Bug#23800: Outer fields in correlated subqueries is used in a temporary table created for sorting. Any outer reference in a subquery was represented by an Item_field object. If the outer select employs a temporary table all such fields should be replaced with fields from that temporary table in order to point to the actual data. This replacement wasn't done and that resulted in a wrong subquery evaluation and a wrong result of the whole query. Now any outer field is represented by two objects - Item_field placed in the outer select and Item_outer_ref in the subquery. Item_field object is processed as a normal field and the reference to it is saved in the ref_pointer_array. Thus the Item_outer_ref is always references the correct field. The original field is substituted for a reference in the Item_field::fix_outer_field() function. New function called fix_inner_refs() is added to fix fields referenced from inner selects and to fix references (Item_ref objects) to these fields. The new Item_outer_ref class is a descendant of the Item_direct_ref class. unknown	fbc16a85c2	BUG#25575: ERROR 1052 (Column in from clause is ambiguous) with sub-join Two problems here: Problem 1: While constructing the join columns list the optimizer does as follows: 1. Sets the join_using_fields/natural_join members of the right JOIN operand. 2. Makes a "table reference" (TABLE_LIST) to parent the two tables. 3. Assigns the join_using_fields/is_natural_join of the wrapper table using join_using_fields/natural_join of the rightmost table 4. Sets join_using_fields to NULL for the right JOIN operand. 5. Passes the parent table up to the same procedure on the upper level. Step 1 overrides the the join_using_fields that are set for a nested join wrapping table in step 4. Fixed by making a designated variable SELECT_LEX::prev_join_using to pass the data from step 1 to step 4 without destroying the wrapping table data. Problem 2: The optimizer checks for ambiguous columns while transforming NATURAL JOIN/JOIN USING to JOIN ON. While doing that there was no distinction between columns that are used in the generated join condition (where ambiguity can be checked) and the other columns (where ambiguity can be checked only when resolving references coming from outside the JOIN construct itself).
