  2. ## Our Pledge
  3. In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as
  4. contributors and maintainers of KiCad pledge to make participation in our
  5. project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone.
  6. ## Our Standards
  7. Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment
  8. include:
  9. * Using welcoming and helpful language
  10. * Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  11. * Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  12. * Focusing on what is best for the community
  13. * Showing empathy towards other community members
  14. Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:
  15. * The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or
  16. advances
  17. * Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  18. * Public or private harassment
  19. * Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or electronic
  20. address, without explicit permission
  21. * Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a
  22. professional setting
  23. ## Our Responsibilities
  24. Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable
  25. behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in
  26. response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.
  27. Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or
  28. reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions
  29. that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or
  30. permanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate,
  31. threatening, offensive, or harmful.
  32. ## Scope
  33. This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, and it also applies when
  34. an individual is representing the project or its community in public spaces.
  35. Examples of representing a project or community include using an official
  36. project e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting
  37. as an appointed representative at an online or offline event. Representation of
  38. a project may be further defined and clarified by project maintainers.
  39. ## Enforcement
  40. Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be
  41. reported by contacting the project team individually at

  46. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that
  47. is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The project team is
  48. obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.
  49. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.
  50. Project maintainers who do not follow or enforce the Code of Conduct in good
  51. faith may face temporary or permanent repercussions as determined by other
  52. members of the project's leadership.
