Brett Cannon	fd0741555b	Issue #2377 : Make importlib the implementation of __import__(). importlib._bootstrap is now frozen into Python/importlib.h and stored as _frozen_importlib in sys.modules. Py_Initialize() loads the frozen code along with sys and imp and then uses _frozen_importlib._install() to set builtins.__import__() w/ _frozen_importlib.__import__().	14 years ago

Guido van Rossum	00bc0e0a2d	Patch #1272 , by Christian Heimes and Alexandre Vassalotti. Changes to make __file__ a proper Unicode object, using the default filesystem encoding. This is a bit tricky because the default filesystem encoding isn't set by the time we import the first modules; at that point we fudge things a bit. This is okay since __file__ isn't really used much except for error reporting. Tested on OSX and Linux only so far.	18 years ago

Guido van Rossum	4114a4afec	Fix the frozen bytecode for __hello__ (betcha didn't know that existed :-). Add a test that prevents the __hello__ bytecode from going stale unnoticed again. The test also tests the loophole noted in SF bug #404545. This test will fail right now; I'll check in the fix in a minute.	25 years ago
